Mark your calendar! Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center – A Very Special Project of Children’s Museum Houston, will host its first
Sensory Friendly Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021.
Sensory Friendly Day is an opportunity for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), sensory processing differences, learning differences and disabilities to explore the Discovery Center at their own pace and time. This exclusive event was held as a special hour before the pandemic. Due to public demand, it will now be held as special days throughout the year.
Sensory Friendly Day is an exclusive event in which doors are closed to the general public. This day bursts with valuable Autism resources and interactive activities, provides a comfortable, protected and accepting environment, and gives parents opportunities to make connections with other families and the Autism community. Special care is taken to provide a comfortable experience, including playing no music and providing sound-reducing headphones. Families may bring their own food during this time.
Special admission is $5 and pre-registration is required. To register, please contact Lydia Dungus at
ldungus@cmhouston.org or (713) 535-7238.
