Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center – A Very Special Project of Children’s Museum Houston will celebrate the big 1-0 with an unforgettable birthday bash packed with music, surprises, hands-on activities, and memory-making moments for children and families across Fort Bend County
beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30. After a decade of inspiring curiosity, creativity, and joyful learning through play, the Discovery Center invites you to celebrate a milestone years-in-the-making!

“Goal Rush 10-Kicks Birthday Ceremony” at 11 a.m.!
At the heart of the celebration will be a special anniversary ceremony featuring remarks from CEO
Rayanne Darensbourg and members of the
Discovery Center’s Kids’ Committee (young leaders who help shape Museum experiences from a child’s perspective). Inspired by the energy and excitement of the world’s biggest soccer game coming to our area, the ceremony will culminate in a
symbolic “10 Goals for 10 Years” kickoff celebration as Kids’ Committee members score 10 soccer balls into the net in honor of the Discovery Center’s milestone anniversary. A playful tribute to teamwork, imagination, and a decade of community impact at
11 a.m. in Kidtropolis Town Center.

partner Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land, whose longstanding support has helped fuel imaginative, hands-on learning for countless children and families throughout the community. As the proud sponsor of
Kidtropolis, USA and the Mercedes-Benz Precision Center inside the exhibit, Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land has played an important role in supporting immersive experiences which introduce children to collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, and STEM-inspired exploration through play.
As part of the celebration, Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land will host a special family-friendly coloring activity featuring a custom-designed event coloring page created for young guests to enjoy throughout the day. Adding to the experience,
one participating family will be selected to receive an exclusive prize package courtesy of the dealership, including
four suite tickets, valet parking, and access to the Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land suite for Sesame Street Live at Smart Financial Centre on June 25.

Balloon Animals: Watch colorful balloons twist and transform into playful animal creations that are sure to be a crowd favorite.

Special Birthday Ceremony featuring Kids’ Committee Member Olivia Genesis: Join youth actress, singer, author, and Kids’ Committee member Olivia Genesis as she serves as MC for the Discovery Center’s milestone birthday ceremony and leads guests in a special “Happy Birthday” celebration honoring 10 years of discovery and play.

Confetti Party: The countdown to 10 is officially over! Join a spectacular confetti blast kicking off a summer full of celebration, laughter, and unforgettable fun.
When: At 11 a.m. following Birthday Ceremony in Kidtropolis Town Center.
Mr. Cirque: Prepare to be amazed as Mr. Cirque roams throughout the Discovery Center performing jaw-dropping juggling acts and circus-inspired feats that will leave you cheering for more.
When: From noon to 2 p.m. throughout the Discovery Center.
For the past decade
, Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center has remained committed to ensuring every child can learn, explore, and thrive through play
welcoming nearly 900,000 visitors. Built around TEKS and national educational standards, the Discovery Center’s interactive exhibits encourage critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving across science, math, arts, and more, helping inspire lifelong learning for more than 100,000 children and over 7,000 families annually. Support from community partners has also helped provide enriching STEAM workshops, parenting resources, and sensory-friendly programming designed to meet the diverse needs of children and families throughout Fort Bend County.
And through bilingual outreach initiatives, access programs for under-resourced families, and field trip experiences for Title I schools, the Discovery Center continues to expand educational opportunities for underserved communities both onsite and beyond its walls.
