Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center transforms into the goopiest and slimiest Halloween hub for safe trick-or-treating daily!

SUGAR LAND (Sept. 24, 2021) – Something icky comes to Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center – A Very Special Project of Children’s Museum Houston!  A myriad of ooey, gooey and slimy has maneuvered its way into the Museum for three weeks of Halloween!  Come partake in spine-tingling experiments, spirit-lifting activities and slime-filled fun during “Halloween Grosstopia.”  Meander your way through the Discovery Center in search of goblins, goodies and goo!  Set out on a trick-or-treat quest every day from 4 to 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Saturdays!

VAMPIRINA MEET-AND-GREET
Oct. 16
We’re going batty for Vampirina!  Join us for a fang-tastic event you’ll want to sink your teeth into as Vampirina makes a special appearance at the Discovery Center.
 
SLIME TIME

It creeps. It crawls. It’s a dose of gross! Halloween means it's time for slime at the Discovery Center.  Cook up green, ooey gooey concoctions of non-Newtonian fluid - in other words... slime! Go gaga for goo!
 
SPOOKY MAGIC SHOW
Oct. 30
Who can resist the mysteries of magic?  Spirits will rise during a jaw dropping magic show lead by magician Jamie Salinas.

MONSTER MAYHEM
Oct. 12 – 16
Something spooky this way comes!  A myriad of magic, mystery and monsters have maneuvered their way into the Discovery Center.

• Build Your Own Monster:  Recreate Frankenstein’s monster in the style of Pablo Picasso in OCuSOFT Art Academy.

• Adopt-A-Monster:  Make a spooky monster pal to chase away ghosts and ghouls at Junktion. 
• Monster Bookmarks:  Get creative as you make a fun and silly monster, then use it to keep your place in your favorite story at Junktion.
• Thermoplastic Monsters:  Learn about thermoplastic polymers and use them to melt into a spooky creation at Science Station.

 
CREEPY CONCOCTIONS

Strap on your goggles and hold onto your skeletons.  It's time to mix up some ooey, gooey and utterly creepy concoctions!

• Potion Bottle Designs:  Mix potions, create crazy concoctions and participate in spirit-lifting bottle designs in OCuSOFT Art Academy.

• Frighteningly Fun:  Transform into a creature of the night with your own handmade pair of bat wings in Junktion.
• Mad Scientist Wig:  BOOM! POW!  ZAP! Make your hair stand on end when you make a mad scientist wig in Junktion.
• Slimy Polymers:  Make slime to take home at Science Station.

 
TRICK-OR-TREAT
Oct. 26 – 30
No tricks, just treats!  Witching you a happy Halloween!

• Halloween Windsock:  Design a ghost, pumpkin or bat to decorate your porch for Halloween night at Junktion.
• Zombie Brain Masks:  Make the walking dead come alive with a zombie brain mask at Junktion.
• Slimy Polymers:  Make slime to take home at Science Station.
