Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center announces upcoming Sensory Friendly Days
First event will feature therapy dogs, story time, resources and more
Monday, Aug. 8!
SUGAR LAND (July 27, 2022) – Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center – A Very Special Project of Children’s Museum Houston invites families to upcoming exclusive events for children with Autism.
Sensory Friendly Day is an opportunity for kids with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences to explore the Discovery Center at their own pace and time. Doors are closed to the public. There is no music and sound-reducing headphones are available. Families may bring their own food during this time.
Upcoming Sensory Friendly Days will take place
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays. These dates are:

- Oct. 3, 2022 (Sponsored by FLUOR)
- April 17, 2023
General admission is $7 and online

Sensory Friendly Day bursts with valuable Autism resources and interactive activities, provides a comfortable, protected and accepting environment, and gives parents opportunities to make connections with other families and the Autism community.
Join us for our upcoming Sensory Friendly Day event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, featuring:
- Faithful Paws: Fuzzy, friendly, and fluffy all over! Experience unconditional love and furry comfort with trained therapy pets. Event Time:10 a.m. to noon in Kidtropolis, USA.
- Story Time: Join us for an interactive reading experience celebrating the fun of summer! Event Time: 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Kidtropolis, USA.
- BlueSprig Pediatrics: Learn about Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy (ABA). Event Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Entry Hall.
- The ARC of Fort Bend County: Explore social events for teens and tweens and parent night outs, special education advocacy, and support groups for families. Event Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Entry Hall.
- Partners Resource Network: Become empowered through education by receiving information on free special education parent trainings and resources. Event Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Entry Hall.
