HOUSTON (March 31, 2021) – Have you missed us? We’ve missed you, too! Fort Bend Children’s Discovery – a very special project of Children’s Museum Houston, is counting down the days until the school year is over and your mind can come out to play!
The Discovery Center will reopen on Tuesday, June 8, with “Fun Summer Vibes” - a “
tropi-cool” paradise destination for families to chill out and switch to vacay mode. Discovery Center Members will be invited to attend Members Preview Day from June 3 to 5 and
Memberships are now available for purchase. You’ve been waiting a whole year for this. Now is the time to celebrate summer!

There’s something new to do every day of Summer at Fort Bend’s ultimate family destination! Get away and soak in the fun during the Discovery Center’s splish-splashing, flip-flopping “Fun Summer Vibes.” Set sail on a voyage of discovery filled with exciting, non-stop adventures every day, all day long!
Don’t miss thrills, interactive activities, and live demonstrations at Science Station. Our galleries are filled to the brim with exhilarating explorations, including
Kidtropolis, USA – a city for kids, run by kids! (which also resembles businesses in Fort Bend), the electrifying
Shocks & Jolts which explores circuits and electromagnetism,
How Does It Work? which sparks curiosity and discovery and
Cum Yah Gullah which takes you on a cultural journey to the Sea Islands.
The Discovery Center will be open from Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Don’t forget to book you visit in advance as the Discovery Center will be operating at a limited capacity.
Advance tickets will be available for sale in early May.
We’re adhering to CDC cleaning and safety guidelines – requiring face masks, maintaining 6-feet of social distance, booking timed entries and more. A complete list of our health and safety practices will be available on our website at
